The winter is upon us and has taken a hold. Frosty mornings, foggy elevenses, cold bright afternoon, and dark clear nights. The season of lights is approaching and people are getting the celebrations ready. Still there are many who linger on their sick beds, and are struggling to recover from cold or flu. This is the place to think higher…
I don’t know what colour your ceiling is, but mine is non-committal white, which I usually avoid looking at. Whatever the finish, best to look beyond the paint and plaster, and see into the presence of the Lord Jesus. He is always there, each day, no matter what our state and He so loves and cares for us, and will keep us safe in His love.
He is the one who dwells in light that no one can ever approach, and yet His precious people can come to that throne in all times of need. He never sleeps nor does He get weary of hearing our prayers, so let us be bold…
Let us seek to be like Him, so that we live lives worthy of our exhaled calling, as His sons and daughters of the eternal kingdom.
He tells us not to judge, as this world judges, but to rest completely in Him.
To be like Him: 1 John 3
“How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.
Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when he appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.
Everyone who has this hope in him purifies himself, just as he is pure.”
