A fountain come forth

“It will happen in that day, that the mountains will drop down sweet wine, the hills will flow with milk, all the brooks of Judah will flow with waters, and a fountain will come forth from the house of the LORD, and will water the valley of Shittim.”

This is what is surely coming. When the old order of the filth of sin and death is finally over, the new kingdom of the Lord will take hold and fully come in all its glory. The land of milk and honey will finally arrive and the people of God will have made it to the other side of the Jordan river in victory. The very mountains and hills will be covered with the vineyards of heaven and the wine and milk will flow into every redeemed soul. The waters of Judah will flow for cleansing and blessing and refreshment. All will be for the enjoyment of the people of God, both practically and spiritually. The hills will literally flow with the blessing of God and the lives of the saints will exhibit the full graces of the Holy Spirit in their walking with God.

The whole renewed earth will be full of the knowledge of the Lord. The word of the Lord will flow like a fountain and water the valley where the Shittim trees grow. Shittim wood is smooth and strong and was used in making the implements in the tabernacle of the Lord. The refreshing streams of the word of God enervate the growing trees that furnish the place of God. That holy Word will always take centre place in the eternal kingdom as the river of gospel truth that runs forever for the people of God. It is like the growing stream in the vision of Ezekiel.

“He brought me back to the door of the house; and behold, waters issued out from under the threshold of the house eastward; (for the forefront of the house was toward the east;) and the waters came down from under, from the right side of the house, on the south of the altar.”

Ezekiel 47:1

The water starts as a trickle and become increasingly deep until it is deep enough to swim in. The Word of God will always be relevant and we shall understand more deeply the truths that are revealed within it. In the heavenly kingdom we shall know even as we are known and God will be our everlasting portion, for His word will be known by us and deeply understood.

“For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I will know fully, even as I was also fully known.”

1 Corinthians 13:12
