Weep no more

Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you; therefore he will rise up to show you compassion. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for him! People of Zion, who live in Jerusalem, you will weep no more. How gracious he will be when you cry for help! As soon as he hears, he will answer you. Although the Lord gives you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, your teachers will be hidden no more; with your own eyes you will see them. Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.”   Isaiah 30: 18-21

We cannot escape the fact, that God is sovereign over all- all situations and all people. God sends trouble and sickness, that do His work in turning our thoughts to Him and asking questions. He waits for us to turn and find Him. He looks for us to wait for Him to speak and teach us His ways. If only we would turn, we would find such blessing and comfort for our longing souls.

Although we try to fill the void with stuff, we cannot and it never satisfies. Perhaps we are beginning to see this, as we cannot get access to the things we like.

God has sent affliction to us. He reminds us we are but dust, and easily troubled. We squirm under the pain of fear and anxiety, and He shows us the way out.

This is the way, walk in it..”

When we eventually get to the end of our resources and our comforts in this physical life, maybe we will think again about our inner being, our soul. God can make us alive to Him and give conquer that is not found anywhere else. If this present situation should persist and show us what eternal life is, we shall have showed of blessing in every family and street.

To have eyes to see the way of God, ears to hear His Word, and a heart that does not veer to the bypath meadows, brings such joy. In this calamity, may we hear God’s voice saying to us. “ I am showing you the path, and giving you the strength to walk in it..” Trust in the unfailing love of Christ Jesus, and the manifestation of that love to you. This amazing time will be something you did not expect and nothing will be the same again.. we will weep no more.

Carry us

The Lord is the strength of his people, a fortress of salvation for his anointed one. Save your people and bless your inheritance; be their shepherd and carry them forever.”  Psalm 28:8-9

If we are trusting in Christ, we are forever safe. As we walk through this life it is often too much for us. It is too difficult to put one foot in front of another. We loose our way, and wander to places we should not go. We get lost, forget the promises of God and think prayer is a waste of time.

But God will save His people, because He has set His heart on them. If we are in that community, we can never be lost. No illness or fearful time can separate us from the love of God. The Lord Jesus is our shepherd and He will never allow us to be destroyed. Jesus will carry us through. Whatever the terrain, or the wildness of the mountain, He will carry us over it and bring us safely home.

We must all face the last enemy. If we walk with Christ, He will give us the victory over that great and frightening foe. As we face the cold river of Jordan, He will bear us up in His arms, safely to heaven and home.

The Lord is our refuge and strength. His person and His presence as He walks with us, will shield us from all ills. We look to Him and no other. As we do so, our strength returns and as Jesus lifts us in His arms, so we also can lift up others who are struggling.

Jesus is our shepherd and will carry us forever.

Strong and courageous

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”     Joshua 9

There is much to be thankful for and we have a God who gives courage to face the many difficulties of life. God commands us to have courage and to face each day with the recognition that He is with us. We don’t need to worry or fret about the future, or even the past, because God’s sovereign purposes are directing our lives.

There are times when we can feel discouraged and we cannot understand where our life will lead, but the grace of God will sustain us and give us the necessary strength to go through.

At certain points in life, there will be changes that dramatically change our circumstances and this can undermine our confidence. God still tells us to be strong and to face each day with courage. We must not listen to the tiresome voice of doubt, that can distract us from active faith in God. We may not feel able, but as we walk with Christ, we will grow in courage and faith and find His comfort and peace every day.

Jesus says to us, “I will never leave you or forsake you..”

The Scriptures are full of promises that can never be broken, because of who says them. We can trust the Lord Jesus because of who He is and His power, which is infinite.

If you are not a believer, He calls to you to come to Him, let go your sins and trust in what He has done for you. He is able to rescue us, and forgive us, because He took the blame for us on that dreadful cross. His love never fails. Why would we suffer loss, or struggle on alone?
If we set our hearts to obey the Lord, we will not be disappointed.

“The Lord God is a sun and shield. The Lord bestows favour and honour. No good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly..”
