Lust of life

“You lust, and don’t have. You kill, covet, and can’t obtain. You fight and make war. You don’t have, because you don’t ask.” James 4:2

What lengths we go to, to get what we want. Our human sinful desires are powerful and will keep us in chains and away from God forever. We see things we like and we really want them, sometimes even when they will damage us. We covet the things that are offered in this world, and grieve for them for long times and end up bitter and disappointed when we don’t get them. Some people are overcome with apathy and the disappointment they feel becomes too heavy, so they substitute nothing. They blot out their desires and dreams and pretend to themselves that their lives are ok. That is such a tragic place to be, and only as we seek God can we be delivered from that prison.

Other people will go to any lengths to get what they want. Killing others. Perhaps not physical killing, but undermining and discouraging other people to keep them down. Often we measure ourselves by what others think, rather than what the Scripture says. The inner desire to possess and the wanting of things, can become almost unbearable. We can listen to philosophies that kill our conscience and legitimate dreams, and we take on board the idea that if we work hard and do all the right things, we will be ultimately successful and get everything we want. This is an insidious lie and is the root of apathy and spiritual death.

The arena of work can be very destructive. People, try to get to the top and get acclaim and recognition, even in so-called Christian circles, and it poisons the mind comprehensively. We really want to be recognised in our group, but we don’t get the position we wanted and when we do, it’s burden to us. We pick arguments with other groups in order to “big” ourselves up and get our followers motivated for combat. But it is fake, because there is no substance or sincerity about it.

No matter how hard we try to reach the top, we cannot. We are always left craving for something more. For the Christian, God will keep you from all harm and will raise you for His glory at the proper time. What ever He has given you to do, do it with all your might and He will sustain you and make your work shine out in His time. We must keep a godly view on these issues. Should we listen to worldly ideas, we will quickly succumb to its deadening agenda.

All the Christian has to do to fulfil their wishes and goals, is to ask God. The only reason we don’t have success and joy, is that we are finding our own way around our desires, and not bringing them to God. God is very straightforward with us. “Ask and it will be given to you.” The asking proves our faith and dependence on His holy will.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding.

In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.”

Proverbs 3:67

“Commit your way to the Lord. Trust also in him, and he will do this: he will make your righteousness go forth as the light, and your justice as the noon day sun.”

Psalm 37:5-6

“Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.”

Psalm 37:4

So many Scriptures on this aspect of life. Love for God is the key and if we use it, we receive our hearts desire. We do not have to sacrifice family, marriages, callings… all is of God and as we trust Him, He will bring it all to pass.

As He is

“We shall see Him as He is..” 1 John 3:3

Christians who live in time and space walk through life in the power of faith. Faith is the obvious presence of God in the life of a believer. It is a sure evidence that there is a God and a Spiritual life ahead for the Christian. It is our hope and our certain reward in the life to come.

When we step out in time and into the eternal realm, all our faith and hope will gaze upon the reality of heaven. In the centre of it all will be the Lord Jesus Christ. We will see Him for who He is and see Him for ourselves. His form, His face, His human body with the radiance of glory streaming out from His person.

We will see the scars, caused by human sin and see His as our Saviour and Deliverer. We shall worship Him and rejoice in a joy not able to be expressed by human words. And yet will will express our love and devotion. Heaven will

be filled with praises far beyond human thought or invention. As we see Him, all loves will acquiesce and all sorrows will fall away. As we see Him in all His glory, we also will shine like the heavens and this will be our reward. Everything we do in that kingdom will be glory-filled and every power and ability we possess will be shed as pure light, out across eternity.

Can you say this small phrase?

If you have no appetite for this heavenly life, you do not know life in God at all. This view of Jesus and His kingdom is for all those who believe.

Recovery of mind

One day, my Bi Polar will come to full fruition. All the abilities I have been given will be seen in all their glory. I will not need to be afraid of them because they are gifts from God. Never again will they be regarded as a disability.

I have heard Autistic people say similar things. The suffering of the mind is not what non-sufferers think. We are not being punished, or rejected by God, or possessed by the devil and his demons. We have abilities that other people don’t have. It is easy to be afraid of mind sufferers, because of these abilities, to know the mind and understand it.

When society in general doesn’t recognise certain abilities, it is made a problem for the sufferer. In some circles, mind sufferers are so rejected and isolated, it triggers episodes. Episodes don’t happen on their own, and nothing is an accident. To analyse and understand what is happening, is left to the sufferer. As time goes on, the sufferer becomes strong and able to process things that “normal” people can not.

The negative prejudice is enhanced by the media and reporting of crimes. This affects the sufferer and psychologically engenders a particular view of themselves and the attitudes of other people.

Some try to balance up the stigma, but it is difficult to do. Psychiatric hospital is unknown and unexplored by people in general. It is a place not talked about and a place of shame and blame. This is a difficult stigma to break open and let people see it as a place of refuge for people who are so hurt by “normal” life. Psychiatric hospital is a place of help and healing for people who’s mind is troubled and in confusion. This is the last big stigma for society to face.

The person suffering in mind and emotion, has to find healing for their illness and also carry the burdens of family, friends and society who don’t understand and just see the problem as something to be contained. The problem comes from the sufferer and the situation the person is living in and issues they are facing, are not considered relevant. Non-sufferers do not usually follow up support for themselves or to pursue understanding of what the sufferer has gone through.

I would ask people everywhere to seek to know the cause, pain and ways to recovery that mind sufferers go through. There is life after illness and families can be strengthened as they all face up to what is happening. Sufferers are not victims or feeble minded people, but people who have been chosen to be strong and to bear burdens for other people.

I rejoice to have such a privilege to suffer for others, as Christ suffered for me, and I will fight with everything I have to uphold my family and keep them all on board. I would love them to understand and see that we are all crucial to each other and we should be helping each other and reaching out to support and love each other. I leave this outcome with God as I know that He is able to keep us all.

Booked

… at that time your people—everyone whose name is found written in the book —will be delivered.

Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt.

Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever.

But you, Daniel, roll up and seal the words of the scroll until the time of the end. Many will go here and there to increase knowledge.” …. Daniel 12:1-4

How do you know your name is in God’s book of eternal life? How do you comfort yourself that your soul is in a right standing with God?

You will be a possessor of eternal life. You know God personally as your Father and you will know that your sins are forgiven by Jesus the Saviour. Even as you live each day of your life, you will be aware of the Holy Spirit living with in your person and giving you the power to overcome all obstacles. You can rest secure because the witness of the Spirit within give peace of mind and heart. The love of God for people is manifest in your life and an unstoppable joy overtakes your ills and failures. This is the identity of a Christian.

God’s people will be totally delivered.

There are those who will shine like stars in the everlasting kingdom. The wise who have constantly sought His face and guidance as they have witnessed and spoken up for the Lord Jesus, will shine brightly in the coming eternal epoch.

However, there is more. Even in this sin-sick planet and deteriorating universe, those who love God and are filled with the Spirit, will be very different from the culture around them. The presence of God within them and the holiness of their life will shine out. It will cause upset to many, jealousies and gossip will hurt them badly, but Christ is able to strengthen them. The comfort of knowing their names are safe in His great name, is the place of life and peace.

Is you name in that book?

Are you shining in this world?

Or are you seeking futile knowledge from earthly places.

“Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.” Isaiah 55:6-7

“For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.” Isaiah 55:12

Ascending

“Who shall ascend to the hill of the Lord?

Or who shall stand in His holy place?”

Two searching questions. Who will be able to climb the hill of the holiness of God? This is a pure ascent of the hill where God dwells. It is the hill of the city of God and all His redeemed people. Only the righteous can climb those slopes.

When the climber reaches the top of that hill, they must be worthy to stand in that holy place. No unclean thing will be there, and no sinner will be able to show the face of human failure in that glorious city.

“The one who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not trust in an idol or swear by a false god.”

Now we have the answer. It is the person who has a pure heart and therefore clean deeds, words and thoughts. This pure person will not put their trust in idols of any kind. This person puts all their trust in the living God, who keeps them secure.

If we desire this ability, we will look to Jesus who can begin that new work in our lives and bring us daily to a standing position in His holy hill of Jerusalem. Ever after we drill climb those sparkling slopes and enter in to our destiny, our inheritance and eternal joyful activity..

Living right with the Hub..

1 Thessalonians 5:14

“…warn anyone who isn’t living right. Encourage anyone who feels left out, help all who are weak, and be patient with everyone..”

Women must address this issue too…

Warn your husband when he isn’t living right. Encourage him when he feels left out. When he is weak, be patient with him..

This is very challenging to us all. We cannot allow our men to wander off with anything. We must take our responsibility for them and teach and coach them towards wisdom.

Speak up when he is doing wrong. Do not fear. The Lord is with you.

Self-pity can be turned to caring for others.

Don’t give up on the weak ones. God has all the strength necessary.

Be patient with the men. They will make it and ultimately be over-comers. It may take time, but God’s grace will keep you, enrich you and give you all power from the throne of God.

Fiery tongues

James 3:5 the same way, the tongue is a small part of the body, but it boasts of great things. Consider how small a spark sets a great forest ablaze.

It takes surprisingly little to teach an animal to obey. A bit and bridle will direct and redirect a horse, a collar and lead for a dog and a tone of voice for a cat. However, the principle is different for humans. People are always seeking their own way and trying to be different from other people. If a person is different, that is a good situation, but trying to copy others is unhealthy and turns people into hypocrites.

We are free to live and move as we will to do, but we can never throw over the everlasting principles upheld by the moral law. If we obey our Lord and God, we will have perfect freedom to choose, for we will choose rightly at all times.

How can we know we are walking in this everlasting way? Let us check our speaking – written, spoken and read words. The three-fold principle of Scripture as always at work. The tongue is a hidden part of the body until we open our mouths and it instantly displays what we are and how our minds work. We see trivial mind process and boasting about what we think we have. We tell people about the great things we do, have done and are going to do. There is no harm in this, if it is true..

But even one unhelpful word can cause Year’s of trouble. We can inadvertently start a spiritual forest fire. Just a spark can set alight a whole area of land and wipe out years of seeming growth. Nevertheless, that same fire can open up the way for new growth and a whole new set of living organisms.

Perhaps this is what is needed today. A blaze of glory and power to sweep through our land and put all evil to flight.

Perhaps the words of our mouths, as Christian people will still rise into flames so that many will be lifted out of the ashes of their lives and find freedom.

Give and take away

7627F592-A42D-4092-8615-FBC250245B1A

The Lord gives and the Lord takes away.

God bestows gifts on His people to enable them to carry out serve for Him, or to enrich their lives to help them carry burdens as He requires. In the giving and the taking away there is blessing for everyone.

God sees the big picture. His eternal plan for the world and human kind cannot be stopped or changed in any way. His purposes will definitely bear fruit for eternity.

God give gifts that are to be used. If we don’t use the gifts we have been given, then we ourselves will suffer loss.

When our task for God is done, then the gift in now not needed, and He will take it away and replace it with another more suitable to our circumstances.

In all things, God is kind and full of compassion. The removal of some gifts might be helpful to some believers. But others will persevere with the vision and receive their full reward.

It is better to give than to take away…

Beautiful One

Beautiful One

As we see the Saviour in the written Scriptures, and as we repent of our sins and all wrong-doing, we believe in Him and we are saved. Saved from the consequences of our sin, and the power of its grip on our lives. Our eyes are then opened and we see Him, not with the physical eye, or the imagination, but with the knowledge we have of Him that we love, as revealed to us in the Holy Word of God.

In other words, See the Saviour… taste the savour…

Abuse

IMG_2884

Abuse in a persons youth, is probably the worst thing that can happen to them. Abuse is more than the actual physical act. It permeates the mindset, thoughts patterns, emotional responses, in fact, every part of the young persons life. Even if they have been taught right ways of living, this evil interjection in their lives, will cause such sorrow and contaminate their attitudes to any number of things.

Abusers do not just seek to contaminate the body, but to warp the mind and soul. What is said to a young person is even more destructive than the physical infringement on that person.

It is not for no reason or lack of empathy that our Lord Jesus let abusers know that their judgment would be severe and perfunctory.

“Jesus invited a little child to stand among them. “Truly I tell you,” He said, “unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes a little child like this in My name welcomes Me. But if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble, it would be better for him to have a large millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.”     Matthew 18:2-6

No abuser will get off from that judgment. There is no sea in heaven…

Anyone who leads others astray, or does anything to hurt another person in their inner life and soul, is already condemned. You don’t have to do much, just offend their sensibilities, and you will lose your soul forever.

Those who have been abused will receive pervasive help from the Lord as they cope with their hurt and dishonour. The Lord will lift up the downcast and make them rulers in His everlasting kingdom. They will suffer no loss. Some people, will wish to have justice at work for them, in this life, but many others will not. They depend on their Lord and God and He will honour them and make full amends for the unrighteousness of evil people. If abuse has been our experience, we do not have to suffer more, by reliving and continually opening the wounds. The Lord Himself will be our portion, and He can heal the soul and make it bright and loving for His sake and ours too.

Everlasting peace will be for all those who trust in Jesus the Saviour, and when His kingdom fully comes, all hurts will be put away, along with the unrepentant predator.
